Lewis William Fort, 86, of Summerville, SC, husband of Helen Shifflett Fort, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his residence.
Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home Thursday evening, April 25, 2013 from 5-7 o’clock.  Burial will be private. Flowers will be accepted.    
Mr. Fort was born March 31, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI, a son of Lewis Freeman Fort and Florence Notley Fort. He was a Veteran of World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. The highlight of his service was the Honor Flight 2009 honoring the WWII veterans. Thanks to the community for giving him the opportunity to share in this special event.  Mr. Fort was a lifetime member of ELKS # 2719, American Legion Post 21, VFW # 3433 and NARFE.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Fort of Summerville; one brother, James Fort (Sally) of Vicksburg, MI; one sister, Janet Richardson (Doug) of White Lake, MI.
