Pinewood Prep claims two region track championships

Pinewood Prep claimed two Region Championships last week during its annual region track and field meet. 
Maryah Nasir won the 1600-meter run and 800 run with times that broke the Pinewood school records....again.
Nasir ran the 1600 in 5:15.8 and then after a fall in the 800, managed to run 2:23. 03.
Isabelle Greenstreet won the 3200. Right after, she ran the anchor leg of the 4 x 800 relay and then 20 minutes later she ran the 1600. With only four schools in the region, there wasn't much rest time between events.
The Pinewood girls 4 x 800 relay (Abby Mandel, Taylor Strickland, Kasey Grossman, Greenstreet) placed second with a season-best time of 11:15.

The Pinewood girls 4 x 100 relay (Seleste Franklin, Katie Smoak, Katrina Powers, Selina Franklin) placed third.

Katie Smoak threw 87-0 in Discus to place second and 26-1.5 in shot to place fifth. Ashley Wilson placed fifth in the discus with a 72-10 mark.
Mason Hazel place third in a tight 1600 race with a new school record and PR of 4:42.7. He also placed third in the 800.

Jake Birdsong placed third in the 3200 (11:43).

Others participating for Pinewood included: Taylor Strickland (400 hurdles), Selina Franklin (100 and 200), Seleste Franklin (400 and 800), Katrina Powers (100, 200 and 400), Kasey Grossman (1600), Abby Mandel (1600), Julia Maguire (1600), Michael Saeger (1600), Nick Van Houten (shot put) and Zach Kanlic (shot put).
