Deputies with the Drug Enforcement Unit of The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office have seized more illegal gambling machines in their ongoing investigation.
Following up on information received, agents raided an establishment at 2140 Highway 41 in Wando, known as A.J.’s, and have confiscated 10 sweepstakes poker machines.
The BCSO is conducting this operation in conjunction with a statewide crackdown by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on these illegal gambling machines.
Charges against the owner of A.J.’s, which could include civil or criminal charges, are forthcoming, according to the BCSO.
If anyone has information on locations of gambling operations please call the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 719-4412 or (843) 723-3800 ext. 4412.
