Dorchester School District Two is now accepting student applications for seventh grade openings for R.H. Rollings Middle School of the Arts for the 2013 – 2014 school year.
Auditions will be held to determine if openings occurring through July 25 can be filled.  Any sixth grade student who resides in the Dorchester School District Two attendance area, including students who previously auditioned and were not accepted, may apply.
Rollings is a school for the fine and performing arts for artistically gifted students in grades six, seven, and eight.  The arts areas offered students are band, dance, piano, string orchestra, theatre arts, visual art, and vocal music.  The acceptance process is based on audition only.  Please be aware that openings may not occur in all the art areas.
Application forms for Rollings will be sent home with all current sixth grade students in Dorchester School District Two in the next few weeks.  The applications are also available online at the Dorchester School District website: www.dorchester2.k12.sc.us/ and at the Gifted and Fine Arts Center.
The Gifted and Fine Arts Center is located at 805 South Main Street in Summerville.   The deadline for completed applications is July 25 at 4 p.m. Completed applications may be mailed or delivered to the Gifted & Fine Arts Center.
Auditions for seventh grade admittance to the school will be held on August 10. Proof of residency in District Two will be required at the time of audition.
