Pino-Gonzalez and Poelker receive degrees from Loyola University

Loyola University in New Orleans awarded 1,036 degrees at its undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Saturday, May 11. The following local students were among those receiving degrees:
* Tatiana Pino-Gonzalez, of Summerville, received a Master of Music Therapy degree from the College of Music & Fine Arts.
* Dustin O'Keefe Poelker, of Summerville, received a Bachelor of
Arts degree from the College of Humanities & Natural Science, and graduated with University Honors.
Tom Brokaw, respected television journalist and long-time anchor of “NBC
Nightly News,” addressed Loyola's Class of 2013. Brokaw received an honorary degree during the ceremony along with legendary jazz vocalist
Germaine Bazzle and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and now New York
Times Managing Editor Dean Baquet.
