Retail banking customers in the southeast rated Columbia-based First Citizens highest in customer satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2013 Retail Banking Satisfaction Study. The study, which is based on responses from more than 50,000 consumers, measures satisfaction among banks and evaluates multiple factors, such as product offerings and problem resolution.
“First Citizens is pleased to be ranked highest in the Southeast in customer satisfaction by such a well-respected organization as J.D. Power and Associates,” said Jim Apple, First Citizens’ chairman and chief executive officer. “We have always been very serious about the importance of having a robust consumer bank along with our strong commitment to businesses, and this award demonstrates that we excel at serving more than 300,000 households in our market area.”
First Citizens ranked highest among retail banks in the Southeast region – which includes Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina – in the areas of financial advice received, in-person service experience, problem prevention and account information clarity.
