Madra Rua supports equestrian camp

  • Thursday, May 30, 2013

Madra Rua of Summerville will host a fundraiser June 4 designed to help send local equestrians to summer camp.
The restaurant is teaming up with Rose Court Farms to sponsor the fundraiser from 4-10 p.m. The event will include a silent auction as well as beer and food specials. Funds raised that evening will be used to help send young riders to Southern Winds Equestrian Camp.
This camp is held each year at Broxton Bridge Plantation in Ehrhardt, located just south of Walterboro. At the camp, riders practice their skills, play equestrian games, swim with the horses and learn cooperative and leadership skills.
The camp is run by Rose Court Farms instructors Lindsey Loppnow and Katie Forcier, along with other instructors and assistants. Campers spend their days outside in a natural setting and their nights in an 18th century plantation house.
