Legend Oaks team claims state championship

Provided -- The Legend Oaks Women’s 40 Plus 3.0 Team advanced to the state finals last month.


Legend Oaks sent two teams to this year’s USTA South Carolina 40 and Over League Championships in Hilton Head.
After qualifying for the state championships by winning their divisions of the Lowcountry Tennis Association, one Legend Oaks team claimed a state title while the other was eliminated in the state finals last month.
The Legend Oaks Men’s 40 Plus 3.0 Team won a 2013 state title in Hilton Head. Captained by Carl MacAdam, the team also includes Nick Bonvillain, Dennis Bradshaw, John Doerr, Jay Doolittle, Mark Fredrick, Alan Greer, Jim Hock, Larry Lowell, Tom Page, Jeff Pastorius, Gary Plyler, Russ Richardson, Jay Simpson and Les Vanhoy. They will play in the USTA Sectionals to be held in Asheville, N.C. at the end of August.
The Legend Oaks Women’s 40 Plus 3.0 Team advanced to the state finals with wins over teams from Camden, Hilton Head, Greenville and Myrtle Beach. Its match in the finals came down to one deciding court that went to a 10-point tiebreak. 
Captained by Diane Pastorius, that team also includes Jane Bonvillain, Lisa Diedrick, Laura Doerr, Becky Doolittle, Katie DuBon, Maggie Hiel, Lisa Marcus, Carol Morrissey, Adele Page, Cindy Parisoli, Terry Robertson and Heather Wayne.
