Tropical Storm Andrea behaved well this week, causing few problems in the area.
Summerville Director of Public Works Charlie Miller said there were zero calls Thursday and Friday.
In spite of the National Weather Service Flash Flood Watch, Tornado Watch and Tropical Storm Warning, little besides rain affected the area.
“The county went to OPCON4,” he said, “which is low, and we followed suite. This means we were prepared should we be needed.”
The town public works department had vehicles and chainsaws and other storm-related equipment gassed up and ready to go.
However, storm drains flowed as they were designed to and even the fire department had only one call – a false alarm, Miller said.
Aside from a couple of limbs blown down here and there, the effects of the storm were minimal.
“We were lucky,” said Miller.
