Shortt, Clarence Lilbern

  Clarence Lilbern Shortt, 76, of Ladson, SC, husband of Dorothy Lorraine Shortt, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his residence.
  Funeral Services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 2013 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 2 o’clock. Burial was at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at PARKS FUNERAL HOME Monday evening from 6 – 8 o’clock.
  Mr. Shortt was born October 5, 1936 in Wytheville, VA, a son of Barry Howard Shortt and Edna Lee Hall Shortt. He honorably served in the US Navy, retiring after 25 years of service.
  Mr. Shortt was a veteran of the Cuban Crisis and served during the Korean War. He was a HTC-Chief Nuclear Power Plant Component Welder and a Hull Technician. He also worked at Detyens Shipyard for 20 years.
  Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. Shortt of Ladson; one daughter, Brenda Lee Shortt of Summerville; two sons, Clarence Barry Shortt and David Allen Shortt , both of Ladson; three sisters, Darlene Grubb, Abby Lynn Greene, and Donna Ann Brackens, all of Wytheville, VA, and four grandchildren, Mitchell Shortt, Krista Nicole Shortt, Jared Allen Shortt, and Hayden Matthew Shortt.
