Mailbox bashing

  • Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Frank Freeman/for The Journal Scene -- Mailboxes bashed in Summerville following graduation.

Dear Editor

Congratulations to the Class of 2013!

You've finished four years of classes, labs, assemblies, sports events, etc., and now you're off into the world to make your mark.
Unfortunately, your class will be remembered for failing to grasp a basic tenet of civil community; it will join those preceding classes which produced other knuckle-dragging churls who don't consider the commencement celebrations to be concluded until a night of mailbox-bashing has been accomplished
Perhaps the guilty oafs have ridden down our suburban street on the way to school every day and consider the half-mile line of mailboxes too tempting a target.
Perhaps the faculties of your schools didn't consider the mention of appropriate behavior necessary.
Whatever the motives or failures, the Class of 2013 now joins the Hall of Infamy.
Congratulations!
