Dorchester County Council and Dorchester Seniors, Inc., honored outgoing Dorchester Seniors board member Richard Dash on Monday. Born in Elloree, Dash graduated high school in New York, served in the Air Force in Korea, and had a career in law enforcement in New York City, retiring in 1993 as a detective. He moved to St. George and began serving on the seniors board in 1997. Although he's stepping down, he will continue volunteering with Dorchester Seniors. Councilman Willie Davis said he asked for the resolution in Dash's honor because he likes for people to be honored while they're alive to enjoy it.
