Man wanted in Ladson shooting

Travis Donald Fender, 21, is being sought by police for the shooting of two people in Ladson Monday, June 10.
Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division, has issued an arrest warrant for Fender for Attempted Murder.
Twenty-three-year-old Jessica Popkin and Licinio A. Dias, 43, were both shot in the torso when deputies responded to 200 Oakmont Drive in Ladson Monday morning, according to Lt. Tony Phinney, CID unit commander. Brent Peets, is listed in the report, according to Phinney, however his involvement is still under investigation. 
Arriving on the scene deputies said they saw two peple lying on the sidewalk in front of 201  Oakmont – Honey Ridge Villas – and Dorchester EMS were on the scene. A deputy observed a shell casing on the walkway and entered it into evidence. Dorchester detective from Criminal Investogations took over.
Witnesses told authorities they had heard only one gunshot as did Dias. Dias stated he thought the shooters, two white males dressed in all black, had left in a white, small-cab truck.
