Dixie all-star season opens

Watching your favorite Major Leaguer smash a home run is great but it’s hard to top the excitement surrounding a 10-year-old knocking one out of the park.
Grab your best lawn chair and a few dollars for snacks because this month several youth baseball teams will set out on their quest to claim a state championship.
The Dixie Youth Baseball All-star tournament season has arrived so fans will have plenty of opportunities to take in a ball game in the upcoming weeks.
The District 7 Machine Pitch AA Tournament is scheduled for June 21-25 in Hanahan. Teams competing in the double-elimination tournament will include those representing Northwoods Park, Pepperhill, Park Circle, Hanhan, Carolina League, Moncks Corner and Parks Field American.
The District 7 Majors Sub District A Tournament is scheduled for June 24-26 at Parks Field, located off Main Street in Summerville. Teams participating in the round-robin tournament will include those representing Carolina League, Bonneau Parks, Moncks Corner and Parks Field American.
The District 7 Majors Sub District B Tournament is scheduled from June 25-27 at Northwoods Park. Teams participating in the round-robin tournament will include those representing Northwoods, Pepperhill, St. Pauls and Ladson Youth.
The top two teams from both sub-district tournaments and Hanahan will advance to the District 7 Majors Tournament scheduled for July 9-14 at Hanahan.
The District 7 AAA Minors Sub District A Tournament is scheduled for June 26-28 at the Alston Middle School (Carolina League) Park located off Highway 78 in Summerville. Teams participating in the round-robin tournament will include those representing Carolina League, Bonneau Parks, Moncks Corner and Parks Field American.
The District 7 AAA Minors Sub District B Tournament is scheduled for June 27-29 at Park Circle. Teams participating in the round-robin tournament will include those representing Park Circle, Hanahan, Ladson Youth and Parks Field National.
The top two teams from both sub-district tournaments and Pepperhill will advance to the District 7 AAA Minors Tournament scheduled for July 8-13 at Pepperhill.
