On June 17, 2013 the local chapter of American Business Women’s Association accepted a corporate sponsorship donation of $2,500 from Chuck Jones of Prudential. This sponsorship allows ABWA to award scholarship memberships and enable women to pursue their small business goals.
ABWA is a national organization and the local chapter-ABWA Jessamine has been active for over 30 years. They are a diverse group of strong business-minded women striving for success. The Mission of the American Business Women's Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.
ABWA meetings always include a local business sponsor who gets to showcase their business. They then have a speaker, who in the past have included local authors, the Charleston Fire Chief, Karen Brack and many other local inspirations. Bring business cards and be ready to network. Refreshments are provided.
