Second amendment burglaries
The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office responded to two burglaries in Summerville June 12. The first, at 1 p.m. on Jack Ct., where the victim told deputies that sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. someone entered his residence by breaking the window in the guest bedroom and stealing a Colt 9mm handgun, a .22 caliber handgun, a Remington .243 caliber rifle, a Dell laptop, an Acer laptop and a Nikon camera. The thief also stole jewelry and cash. The total value, he reported, was $5,050.
At 6:49 p.m., deputies responded to Myers Mill on Blair Road where the victim had returned home from work to discover her gun safe had been broken into and five firearms were missing which she valued at $3,000. The victim told police she believes her son was responsible. A window was shattered in the living room and a blue bicycle and clothing, belonging to the son, were found by the window.
Police recovered fingerprints at the scene.
