Well, hello officer

Police informants told police that a man was selling drugs out of his house and they went about conducting surveillance to prove this.

One officer drove by in an undercover car and saw the man standing in front of his house talking on the phone. The suspect actually waved at the officer not knowing it was an undercover cop.

The officer parked a distance off and watched him for a time. The man paced and talked on his phone and then finally walked down the road and got into someone’s car. The officer followed them and quickly noticed the windshield had a large crack in it, giving him ample reason to stop the vehicle.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the female driver. She looked for her car paperwork and could not find it. She did not make eye contact with the officer and kept looking at the passenger as if she were mouthing words to him. The officer then asked the driver to step out of the car and asked her what was going on. She said, “I don’t know. I am taking him somewhere.”

He asked where she had been earlier and she named the suspected drug dealer’s (her passenger) previous location. She said she had been there all day. But the officer knew that to not be true.

According to the report, she then said, “Look, I know this doesn’t look good but I am just helping him out.”

The officer then asked if he could search her car. She agreed and the officer had the suspect passenger step out of the car. The officer asked to search his person and the suspect said, “Can I say no?”

The officer informed him he could say no and the suspect said, “I would rather you not search me.”

Under the front passenger seat the officer found what appeared to be marijuana and some pills in the girl’s wallet. Those items gave the officer probable cause to search the suspect who then got defensive according to the report.

He tried to talk his way out of it but the officer eventually located what appeared to be cocaine. The suspect said excitedly,”I have a habit of sniffing cocaine.”

At that point they were both arrested, and the car was towed.
