Anna Maryka Straub and David Wallace Balderson, both of Columbia, South Carolina were married June 29, 2013 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Greenville, South Carolina. Father Jon Chalmers officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter James Straub of Greenville. She was given in marriage by her father.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Porter Balderson of Summerville, South Carolina.
The bride’s maid of honor was Ms. Lauren Knight. Serving as her bridesmaids were
Ms. Chelsey Ashford, Ms. Courtney Bruner, Ms. Caroline Cole, Ms. Katelyn Dowling, Ms. Katherine Freemon and Ms. Jaclyn Isbell, all of Greenville; and Ms. Rachel Nelson of Williamsburg Brooklyn, New York.
Honorary bridesmaids were Ms. Stephanie Arntz of Greenville and Ms. Carlyle Gillis of Columbia.
The groom’s father, Donald Porter Balderson, stood as his best man.
Groomsmen were Mr. Donald Porter Balderson, Jr., brother of the groom, of Columbia; Mr. Christopher Haggard of Augusta, Georgia; Mr. Jordan Keels of Summerville; Mr. Reid McCullum of Columbia; Mr. Wilson Merriman of Port Charlotte, Florida; Mr. Alexander Odom and Mr. Harleston Towles, both of Charleston, South Carolina.
Serving as readers were Mr. Michael Straub, brother of the bride and Mr. Kyle Tennis, both of Columbia.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bohdan William Boluch of Amherst, Massachusetts; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sylvester Straub of Syracuse, New York.
The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Theodore Loomis of Newnan, Georgia; and Mrs. Wilmer Howard Balderson of Silver Spring, Maryland and the late Mr. Wilmer Howard Balderson.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Wade Hampton High School and a 2010 graduate of the
University of South Carolina with Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communications. She is employed with South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association in Columbia.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Summerville High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in business. He is employed with GMK Associates, Inc. in Columbia.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Brick Street Café in Greenville.
A reception followed the wedding ceremony at the Younts Conference Center at Furman University.
The couple will honeymoon in Antigua and will make their home in Columbia.
