Mr. Messervy,

On Friday, June 7, 2013 I visited the Dorchester County Auditor's office in Summerville. I was assisted by Ms. Laretha Young and I wanted to let you know that it was a delightful experience.

There was no waiting and Ms. Young went out of her way to help me. I needed to transfer the name on a car title from my son and my husband to just my son's name. The SCDMV had instructed me that we would need to pay the property tax on the vehicle in my son's name. Ms. Young explained to me that since the tags and taxes were valid through the end of June, that if my son were to register his car in the new state where he currently resides before the end of the month there would be no need to pay the taxes.

She even called the SCDMV to verify this for me. Ms. Young also told me to call her back if there were any problems, which there were not. With her help I was able to save almost $200.

Thank you for your leadership in the Auditor's Office and for employing such great employees.

Sincerely,
Pam Poelker
