Dr. Julio Rentas joined Trident Health as a neurologist about a year ago, bringing his wife and four children here from Camp Lejeune, N.C., after finishing his military medical service. They previously lived in Maryland and Japan, and are originally from Puerto Rico, but are quite happy to make their home in Summerville now. “We love it here. My co-workers are amazing. The patients are great, and I really feel like I am making a difference here.” As a neurologist on staff at both Trident Medical Center and Summerville Medical Center, one of the roles that Dr. Rentas plays is in delivering swift treatment to stroke patients, which can make a big difference in patient outcomes. “As a certified stroke center, we are one of the few places in the Lowcountry that has the capability and the resources to treat strokes the right way.”
