Lauren Ashley Wells and Alec Wilson Kitch were united in marriage on Saturday, July 13 at half past six o’clock in the evening at the home of Gerald and Nancy Kitch in Asheville, North Carolina. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Robert Blackburn.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wells of Belmont, North Carolina; granddaughter of Mrs. Anna Jean Chambers and the late Mr. Harold Chambers of Clyde, North Carolina; and Mrs. Nancy Wells and the late Mr. John Wells of Canton, North Carolina.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Russell Kitch of Summerville, South Carolina; grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kitch of Asheville, North Carolina and of Mrs. Katherine DeCourcy and the late Mr. William DeCourcy of Laguna Woods, California; and the late Mrs. Louise DeCourcy of Sewickley, Pennsylvania.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a San Patrick Rita strapless gown of exquisite lace and romantic tulle with a sweetheart neckline. The gown flares into an enchanting mermaid tail, and a majestic tulle train adorned with lace applications culminating in a romantic chapel train.
Miss Taylor Holt of Charlotte, North Carolina served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Miss Jana Kitch, sister of the groom; Miss Lily Patterson of Worthington, Ohio; Miss Casey Poff of Durham, North Carolina; and Miss Stefani Shuey of Charlotte, North Carolina. The flower girl was Miss Addison Israel of Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore floor length gowns in coral chiffon.
Mr. Sean O’Connor of New York, New York served as best man. Groomsmen included Mr. John Ellis of Charleston, South Carolina; Mr. Sean Kitch, brother of the groom; Mr. Steffan Nunn of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Mr. Cameron Wells, brother of the bride.
The ring bearer was Dominic Driskill of Fort Mill, South Carolina.
The bride is a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on Occupational Therapy and recently graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina at Charleston with a Master’s Degree in Rehab Science/Occupational Therapy.
The groom is a graduate of Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina. He graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University Calhoun Honors College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and is currently attending the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina.
Following a honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Lauren and Alec will reside in Greenville, South Carolina.
