Pay attention!
Summerville Police responded to Walmart for a hit and run. The victim, a 19-year-old, told police he had dropped his phone and when he bent over and reached down to pick it up a car had run over his hand. He told police the driver – a 50- or 60-year old black male – stopped and looked at him while he was trying to free his hand, then drove off. EMS responded.
Don’t panic!
The victim told Summerville Police that while on her way to work she got a flat tire on Trolley Road near Ace Hardware. She parked and locked her black 1996 Saturn in the median and went to get help. When she returned, the vehicle was missing. Police were later notified that her father had located and recovered the vehicle from Trolley Road.
Country club set
While on patrol, Summerville Police noticed a red Volvo sedan parked in the Miler Country Club parking lot with the windows fogged up. Police approached the vehicle and observed three men and a woman in the car. When the driver opened the window to speak with the officer, the officer could smell the strong odor of burnt marijuana. The driver told police they were “smoking pot.” When the police asked if they had smoked all the marijuana they had, the driver said “no” and handed the officer a vial with plant material inside. The driver then told police that they had smoked the dope with a pipe in the glove compartment. No other contraband was found when the driver consented to a search of the vehicle. Police charged the driver with possession.
