Brian Richburg

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at 429 Reeves Farm Road in St George Saturday, July 27 at 6:37 p.m. When they arrived they spoke with two witnesses who said they heard shots and ran outside and saw the victim, Terril Alexander Riley, drop to his knees and say, “I can’t believe that you shot me.”
The shooter, Brian Richburg of 1352 Mulberry Road, St. George, then put the victim in his car telling the witnesses he was taking him to Colleton Medical Center.
While police were speaking with the witnesses, one received a call from Richburg telling him that he was at work. The witness told Richburg he had “screwed up” and asked where the victim was. Richburg answered, “he didn’t make it.”
Police went to Richburg’s place of employment – Kentucky Fried Chicken –  and took custody of Richburg.
Police found Richburg’s vehicle around midnight near I95, exit 62. While searching the area police discovered the body of Riley, dumped in a ditch, partially submerged in water.
Richburg has been charged with Murder. The investigation is ongoing.
