While walking their dogs on Regent Street in Summerville, the victims and their dogs were attacked by two small terrier-like dogs that ran out from between two houses and assaulted them. Shortly thereafter, a large Rottweiler ran over from another house and joined the attack. The couple was eventually able to extricate their dogs from the attack, relatively unharmed, and get away. Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies responded along with Animal Control and canvassed the area but were unable to locate any of the attacking dogs.

On August 4, Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an assault in progress on West 5th North Street. The complainant reported that her ex-boyfriend was chasing her in her vehicle and repeatedly, intentionally ramming her vehicle. Arriving at the reported location, deputies observed a vehicle enter Highway 78 at a high rate of speed without stopping at a stop sign. The deputies pulled the vehicle over on Deming Way and recognized the victim from repeated calls to DCSO for domestic violence.
Deputies were able to locate the ex-boyfriend – Antwaun Deandre Jones – on Azalea Dr. Jones told deputies that the victim had been assaulting him. However, deputies were able to ascertain from the damage to Jones’ vehicle and to the victim’s, that Jones was, in fact, the assaulter.
Although the victim and a passenger in her vehicle declined to press charges, deputies charged Jones with Assault and Battery 2nd Degree for repeatedly ramming the victim’s car on the rear passenger side where his juvenile daughter was seated in an improperly secured car seat.
