William Cook, MD

  • Thursday, August 15, 2013

Dr. William Cook splits his workdays between Low Country Internal Medicine, where some patients have been with him for more than 20 years, and the Sleep Lab in Summerville Medical Center. He is board-certified in both areas as well as in pulmonary medicine, the treatment of lung and breathing disorders. “I just enjoy practicing medicine, and I'm doing the things that I really like to do,” says Dr. Cook. “I like to talk with people and figure out what's wrong with them and how I can make them feel better.” At the Summerville Medical Center Sleep Lab, he treats many adults and children with sleep apnea, which means breathing is shallow or frequently disrupted during sleep. In many cases, sleep apnea can be relieved by continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.
