A Summerville man was arrested August 13, after he threw a neighbor’s cat into the neighbor’s window to stop the cat from coming onto his property, according to an incident report.
Robert John Paradise was charged with Malicious Damage to Property. Around 1:46 a.m., the cat’s owner was awoken by the sound of a man screaming and a crashing sound in front of her apartment.
She reported she went downstairs and discovered a glass windowpane was broken and her neighbor, Paradise, was standing in front of her apartment.
Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies responded and were told by Paradise that he had thrown the woman’s cat at her window because he was frustrated with the feline continually coming to his residence and scratching at his door and window.
The cat’s owner located the cat and it appeared to be unharmed, the report states.
Because of his own admission, Paradise was arrested and remanded to Dorchester County Detention Center in St. George.
