Panther swimmers compete in Goose Creek

The Panthers participated in the Northwood Invitational Swim Meet at the Crowfield pool in Goose Creek last week.
The Pinewood girls opened the meet with a ninth-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
Libby Smoak then had a personal best time in the 200 Freestyle. In the 50 Freestyle Summer Ricciardi placed fourth with a time of 27.99, Katie Smoak placed seventh with a personal best time of 29.37, and Arden McNeill had a personal best time of 38.28.  Ricciardi also placed fifth in the 100 Butterfly. Sophomore Samantha Hilleshiem had a season-best time of 1:07.80 and finished in ninth place in the 100 Freestyle. 
Eighth-graders made an impact at the meet as Matti Easterday swam to a seventh-place finish in the 100 Backstroke and Anna Rook placed 10th in the 100 Breaststroke.
The Pinewood 200 Freestyle Relay team placed fifth and the Lady Panthers’ competition ended with a fifth-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. 
The Pinewood boys also had a successful meet. They started with a fourth-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. Pinewood’s 400 Freestyle Relay team placed fourth. 
Krish Patel had a personal best time of 2: 44.77 and finished in 10th place in the 200 I.M.  Connor Campbell made his state qualifying time in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 29.44. Noah Boykin had a personal best time of 1:14.45 in the 100 Freestyle.
Pinewood also had Top 10 finishes in the 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 100 Breaststroke events.
The Panthers will resume competition Sept. 5 in a dual meet versus Summerville High School.
