Dr. Susan Kady Wilson and her team launched a new initiative at Summerville Medical Center (SMC) to ensure that each pregnant woman who arrives at the hospital receives immediate care from a specialist. The OB/GYN Hospitalist Program provides extra assurance and 24/7 coverage for expectant women who already have an OB/GYN and assumes responsibility for those who don't. It also allows Dr. Wilson to focus on labor and delivery, her favorite part of being on OB/GYN. Dr. Wilson serves as team leader of the OB/GYN Hospitalist Program at SMC, while her husband, Dr. Larry Wilson, has taken the same role at Trident Medical Center. They are grateful to return to the Charleston area, where they first met in medical school, and have three boys of their own. “To live and work in the Lowcountry is an indescribable opportunity. ”
