Jeep driver cited for causing wreck

  • Thursday, September 5, 2013

Rachel Grubor of Pittsburgh, Penn. driving a Jeep SUV, was cited by South Carolina Highway Patrol for “Driving Left of Center” in the wreck August 29 that burned out the cab of a tractor trailer and closed Boone Hill Road (17A) for more than four hours.
According to Highway Patrol PIO Bridget Wyant, reading from the trooper’s report, the truck driver, Lamond Gould of Pooler, Ga., was unable to avoid Grubor hitting him head-on when she veered onto his side of the road.
Although Gould was transported by EMS, neither of the drivers suffered life-threatening injuries. Grubor left the scene on her own. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
