MMTC Military Resources and Job Expo

  • Tuesday, September 10, 2013

NORTH CHARLESTON – Miller-Motte Technical College in North Charleston is hosting a hiring event and job resource expo on campus Friday, October 18th. The program will feature military hiring specialists SolidHires and Welcome Home Resumes, creators of an interactive resume building program developed to help veterans and their families improve their presence in the job market.
“Unemployment is a serious issue for veterans today,” says event coordinator Molly Margosian. “The goal of this expo is very simple: We want to reduce the unemployment line.” Although the expo will feature top employers from many sectors and locations who are interested in hiring full and part-time employees, attendees can expect to do more than stand in long lines and shake hands. Starting as early as 9:00 a.m., pre-event career workshops will be offered, covering topics such as resume writing, interview skills, personal branding and social media. Military spouses will be included as well, with services being represented to meet their specific needs.
Although special resources will be offered for the military community, it is open to the public and is free to all job seekers.
Pre-registration is requested; please visit: https://charlestonhiringexpo.eventbrite.com. If you are an employer interested in participating in this hiring event, please visit SolidHires’ website at www.solidhires.com, email info@solidhires.com, or call 404-913-0592 for registration information.
When: Friday, October 18, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. Arrive at 9:00 for pre-event workshops.
Where: Miller-Motte Technical College is located at 8085 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston
