The body of Rashaad Lamarks Banks, 26, of North Charleston was found along Dorchester Road early this morning, may be linked to an earlier shooting at the Rehab Bar & Grill at 8484 Dorchester Road, police speculate.
According to Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet, an autopsy is scheduled for September 14 but examination of the body has determined a single gunshot wound to the back. Nisbet is calling the death a homicide.
The body was found near the intersection of Dorchester and Ashley Phosphate roads at about 6:45 a.m., according to reports.
Around 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to shots fired at the bar. Deputies responded and four people were treated at Trident Medical Center. Police concluded their investigation at the bar, reports say. A few hours later, a passerby called in the body sighting.
Although police had searched the immediate area, they had not seen the victim and speculate he may have hidden from the deputies, according to published reports.
