Preston Wendell, MD

  • Wednesday, September 18, 2013

For Dr. Preston Wendell, emergency medicine is a passion. So it’s not surprising that he is taking on two important leadership positions in his field. This month, Dr. Wendell started as director of the Emergency Department for Summerville Medical Center. In addition, he serves as president elect of the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians, helping to make advancements at state and national levels. Emergency medicine has quickly gained respect in medical circles, and Dr. Wendell enjoys it not only for the variety of challenges it brings but also because it allows him to provide immediate aid to people in a true time of need. “I like being on the front lines, and I like being there for my patients in the middle of the night when no one else is around. I think that’s a really cool part of what we do.”
