St. Padre Pio American Catholic Church is a community church that accepts all inclusively without judgment and truly concentrates on forgiveness and love as a Catholic Church. They are not part of the Charleston Roman Catholic Diocese.
St. Padre Pio American Catholic Church is celebrating its 5th year Anniversary serving those in the Catholic Community throughout the Greater Charleston areas that have wandered away or what they call “Lost Sheep”. They are also Celebrating on September 23, 2013, the Feast of Padre Pio-45 Years since his Death. Padre Pio was canonized by the Catholic Church as a Saint by John Paul II on June 16, 2002. Their Bishop William A. Johnson is coming from Minnesota to perform the Ordination for Brother Anthony Moran to Order of Deacon. The Church is open for more Vocations to the priesthood and is actively recruiting.
St. Padre Pio’s will be celebrating their 5 year anniversary gathering the Lost Sheep with a Parish Picnic and a weekend full of activities followed by a Retreat at the Mepkin Abbey this weekend to give Thanks and Praise.
The Church is lead locally by the Reverend Father Bob O’Connell, OFM who also works throughout Dorchester County and Charleston County as a Chaplain for those in need with the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy.
