Summerville Elementary School held a Boosterthon Fun Run Friday, September 6 to raise money for technology and teacher grants. According to PTA organizers, a projected $19,000 was raised.
Every child at SES participated in the daily character lesson, ran in the Fun Run and received a Boosterthon jersey. Boosterthon's core values of Leadership, Fitness and Character fit perfectly with SES's model The Art of Leadership and Dorchester District Two's health and wellness initiative, said organizers. The meals that SES earned and Boosterthon is donating will be donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank.
