Anyone browsing the web may have noticed a different looking Goose Creek website.
As of Sept. 9 a newer looking www.cityofgoosecreek.com went live.
The sitemap offers navigation of various city boards and departments. One feature includes a monthly crime map dividing the city into four sections and showing exactly which crimes happened in what area, and how many.
The new site has more user-friendly features that include: citizen request tracker, online payment center, notify me email and text subscription, alert center and emergency alert notification, facilities and online reservations, online business license and permit applications, mobile application for smartphone, staff directory and a searchable archive database to include agendas, meeting minutes, etc.
Goose Creek Public Information Officer Jesica Mackey told council and the public about the need for the new site at the May 14 Goose Creek City Council meeting.
The upgrade should enhance city services and economic development, according to City Administrator Dennis Harmon.
