Randy Henderson had a hole in one at Summerville Country Club Oct. 3. Henderson used an 8 iron to drive the ball 140 yards and ace Hole 15. Rockie Bailey and Jay Baldwin witnessed the shot.

Bill Henderson shot his age, 77, on Oct. 3 at Links of Tryon and again on Oct. 11 at Summerville Country Club.
The Summerville Family YMCA has opened registration for its Co-Ed Youth (ages 5-15) Flag Football program. Registration is available at any YMCA location or online (www.summervilleymca.org) through Oct. 28. The fee is $40 for Y members or $80 for potential members. Practices begin Nov. 25 and the season runs Dec. 7 through Feb. 8. Most games are played on Saturdays but each team will have at least one week-night game.
Fallen Firefighters tournament
The Charleston County Fire Chiefs Association is sponsoring the fifth annual National Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament Oct. 18 at Oak Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island Resort. This Captain’s Choice tournament is one in a series of nation-wide golf tournaments organized by local volunteers to raise funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The tournament is open to the public for an $85 registration fee that includes golf, cart, contests, prizes, cookout and refreshments. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and a shotgun start will follow an hour later. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The Summerville Soccer Club needs parents of players to sign up for volunteer days. There is a schedule posted on the website (www.summervillesoccerclub.com/Volunteer/index_E.html ) for Game Days, Picture Day and Year-End Jamboree. The club needs volunteers for each.
