A St. George couple has been charged with child neglect after a 15-month-old girl suffered a skull fracture from falling off a bed, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

The little girl was brought into MUSC by EMS at 9:40 p.m. September 21 with trauma to the head. The child suffered a shaking/whiplash injury and forceful direct impact against a hard surface sometime between September 20 and 21.

According to the Affidavit, Hunt waited two hours to call EMS even though the child was unresponsive.

Minus failed to check the welfare of the child in the morning and afternoon of September 21 after she had fallen from the defendant’s bed on September 20. Instead, she left the residence at approximately 1 p.m. to go to work even though the baby had not woken up that morning.

Both were remanded to jail on $50,000 bond each. However, as of October 8, they had bonded out.
