Fields of Faith

Around 250 students from across the Lowcountry attended Fields of Faith at Cane Bay High School last week.

Fields of Faith was started in Kansas City, Mo to serve as a platform for students from different denominations to rally together according to their website. It follows in the method by King Josiah to “bring many people together at one time, read scripture and share personal testimonies, and be challenged by fellow students to read the Word of God and to follow Jesus Christ,” the website said.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor at CBHS Spanish teacher Ricky Reyes said students from Cane Bay Middle, Berkeley Middle College, Charleston Southern University and six high schools gathered on the football field, intended to be a neutral rally point.

“Knowing there were over 450 other schools all meeting at the same time praying for their friends, classmates, schools, teams and country (made this event significant),” he said.

There was praise and worship music, scripture reading and student testimonies according to Reyes.

“The reaction was awesome. The students said they had a great time and wanted to have more events like this one,” he said.
