The Ashley Ridge girls’ tennis team earned a 5-1 victory over Summerville Oct. 17.
The Swamp Foxes improved to 12-3 with the win and took an 8-1 mark in Region 8-AAAA into play this week.
Bella Lawrence, Savanna Lawrence, Lauren Smith and Julia Lawton all won their singles match against the Green Wave. Lawton’s match against Madison McLane had to be decided in a third set.
Summerville’s Lizzie Naval won her match against Megan Illsley, but not before Illsley forced a third set.
In doubles play, Ashley Ridge’s Arianna Brim and Ali Blackmon teamed up to earn a 6-4, 7-5 win over Harper Mobley and Lunden Hancock.
Ashley Ridge is currently tied with Bluffton for first place in the region.
