Type of theft: Theft from Building

Location: Spring Street, Summerville

Date: Oct. 1 to Oct. 18, 2013

Time of day: 6:30 to 6 p.m.

Items stolen: Blower, Hedge trimmer, articulating head, fixcut line head, line attachment, orbital buffer and orbital saw. Also, a woman’s gold wedding band, woman’s gold wedding ring with a carat diamond, yellow gold Garrett High School ring with red stone, man’s white gold wedding band with five diamonds, man’s yellow gold wedding band, gold pocket watch with a deer on it.

Total value: $4,595

Incident report details: The items were stolen initially October 1, but then, the victim reported, some more were stolen and he discovered some at a pawn shop. However, the pawn shop would not return them without a police report.

Type of theft: Theft of articles from Vehicle

Location: Lakes of Summerville, Savannah River Dr.

Date: Oct. 14, 2013

Time of day: 10:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Items stolen: Size 7.5 Nike tennis shoes and $6 in change.

Total value: $36

Incident report details: The victim told police she had left her vehicle unlocked.

Type of theft: Larceny

Location: Dorchester Rd., Summerville

Date: Sept. 27 to Oct. 7, 2013

Time of day: 3:30 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Items stolen: Excavator

Total value: $44,246

Incident report details: The victim works fro Makson Central Construction. When he arrived on the property he saw that one of the excavators was missing. The excavator was rented from United Rental. It is a Sketchier model with a grey and red enclosed cab and a sticker on the boom arm that says United Rental, as well as on the back side.

Responding agency: Dorchester County Sheriff
