Cane Bay High School will host its annual Fall Community Fair on Nov.23 from 9 a.m. until noon at the front entrance of the school. Volunteers will give out Thanksgiving food baskets, other food and gently used clothing to needy members of the community.
The Church at Cane Bay, Del Webb, Providence Wesleyan Church, Ridge Baptist, Cane Bay Middle and Cane Bay Elementary schools are working with the high school on the event.
High school student organizations such as: DECA, BETA, National Honor Society, Student Council and FCA, are coordinating the food and clothing donations. Cane Bay High School principal Lee Westberry said hosting an event of this nature for the community is invaluable.
“As a school staff we are here to be more than just a leader in education for the students we serve. Events like these are opportunities for our students to be inspired about the difference they can make in the lives of others, starting in their own community. The value of that is beyond measure.”
Those wishing to donate freshly washed, gently used clothing can drop them off at the school’s front office before Nov.18.
Cane Bay Community families in need of a Thanksgiving food basket should contact CBHS’s Katherine Smith at 899-8786 by Nov.19. Other food and clothing will be available on Nov.23 from 9 a.m. to noon.
