Shadowmoss makes a stand

After a rain delay, Shadowmoss blew away the field on its home course to win the 11th match of the Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf 2013 season.

Shadowmoss finished with a solid 41 points Oct. 21 to win the match. Coosaw Creek was second with 10 points. Trailing were Charleston Municipal (5), Charleston National (4), Legend Oaks (0), Crowfield (-1), Miler (-4), Pine Forest (-6), Berkeley (-11), Dunes West (-14), Rivertowne (-15) and Wescott (-16). Stono Ferry was disqualified for not fielding a team.

The top individual score was turned in by Ken McGuire of Pine Forest, who finished with 10 points. Stan Ward of Charleston National, Wayne Wright of Shadowmoss, Ron McCullogh of Rivertowne and Bill Moore of Coosaw Creek all tied for second place with 9 points. Coosaw Creek has 108 points and leads the season standings. Trailing are Wescott (94.5), Miler (89), Charleston National (87), Pine Forest (87), Shadowmoss (78), Charleston Municipal (74.5), Crowfield (73), Legend Oaks (72), Berkeley (71.5), Dunes West (70.5), Rivertowne (68) and Stono Ferry (49).

The next match is scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Dunes West course.
