4 arrested in meth bust
The Berkeley County Drug Enforcement Unit arrested four people after finding items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine at a residence near Moncks Corner on Nov. 3.
Deputies originally responded to a report of a possible burglary at 606 Levee Dr. and found multiple subjects inside the house that, according to the homeowner, did not live there and were not supposed to be there, according to a Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office statement released on Nov. 5.
Deputies then detained everyone in the residence while they conducted a protective sweep of the property and located the items used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Arrested were Brittany Wright, 21, Staci Cassidy, 24, James Trusdale, 32, and Jessie Janes, 30.
All were charged with manufacturing meth and possession with intent to distribute meth. Additional charges are forthcoming.
Bonds for the two counts of manufacturing meth charges were set at a total of $30,000 for Cassidy and Wright.
Bond for Janes was set at a total of $60,000. Trusdale’s bond was set at $65,000 for three charges, including unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the presence of a minor child.
His bond has not been set for a charge of obligation to support spouse and children and a hold from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office for a disposal of meth charge has not been set.
