Children trick or treating Oct. 31, on Windsor Hill Blvd., in the Willow Trace apartments, had their Halloween candy stolen.

An 18-year-old was identified as the perpetrator of a bunch of Strong Arm Robberies.

A mother called Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies after her son had his bag of candy stolen. The victims told deputies that while they were walking on William Moultrie Dr., near Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School, they approached a crowd of people trick or treating and saw several subjects snatching bags of candy from the children.

The victim said he tried to walk away but was grabbed by the suspect. He was able to grab his book bag back from the suspect, breaking the strap, but then the 18-year-old ran up behind him and punched him in the head and left ear.

The victim told deputies he was feeling dizzy and EMS responded and transported him to MUSC.

A second victim was also assaulted on the right side of his face and jaw. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
