At 6 a.m., on Nov. 14, Summerville Police Department investigated a single vehicle collision in the BB & T bank at No. Main and 9th Street North.
The vehicle, driven by Lonnie M. Chapman, 31, was traveling southbound on Main St and was traveling too fast when the driver attempted to turn onto 9th St., according to SPD PIO Jon Rogers.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck the BB&T building (904 North Main St.) causing major damage to the building.
The driver was transported by EMS to a local hospital, and her status is unknown at this time. The driver was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
