Hearn, Crom marry in summer ceremony

Mrs. Ben Andrew Crom

Brooks Elizabeth Hearn of Summerville and Ben Andrew Crom of Charleston were married Aug. 2, 2013, in Mount Pleasant.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, William Richardson Hearn, Jr. The groom’s uncle, Rev. Wally Williams, officiated.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Richardson Hearn, Jr., of Summerville. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Brooks Cox of Irmo, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. William Richardson Hearn, Sr., of Summerville.

The bridegroom is a son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Gordon Wendell Crom of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mr. and Mrs. Carol Crom of Garland, Texas.

The bride wore a white chiffon draped modified mermaid gown with a cowl neckline, back lace criss-cross and semi chapel length train.

Sarah R. Hearn of Summerville was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Avery, Laura Bailey, Julianna Hendrix, Amanda Nichols, Melanie Pope, Megan Sanders, Leigh Ward, Julia Wood and Courtney Wyant. The bridesmaids wore a white lace overlay sweetheart bodice with a navy chiffon skirt and sash. Reagan Joy Crom was the flowergirl.

Lt. Col. Gordon Wendell Crom was the best man. The groomsmen were Brig. Gen. Steven Anderson, Raymond Blackledge, Capt. Kyle Crom, Staff Sgt. Ian Crom, Lt. Laurence Herman, Kurtis Lee, Micah Nichols, 1st Lt. Daniel Richardson and Robert Sallee.

Mrs. Crom is a graduate of Summerville High School, the University of South Carolina Honors College and The Graduate School of the College of Charleston. Mr. Crom is a graduate of Palmer High School and the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

After honeymooning in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple made their home in Summerville.
