roper-photography.com FD graduate Robert Quinn is having a strong season for the St. Louis Rams.

Fort Dorchester graduate Robert Quinn scored his first NFL touchdown Sunday.

Quinn, a defensive end for the St. Louis Rams, collected a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and his first career touchdown all on the same play. The 6-4, 264-pound defender powered his way to the Chicago quarterback in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game and stripped the football out of his hands while bringing the QB to the ground. The former Fort Dorchester and UNC standout then recovered the fumble and returned it approximately 31 yards into the end zone for the score, which gave his team a 41-21 lead. After a successful extra point, St. Louis went on to claim a 42-21 victory and improve to 5-6 on the season.

Quinn and fellow defensive end Chris Long have teamed up with tackles Kendall Langford and Michael Brockers to give the Rams one of the best pass rushing units in the NFL. The front four have combined for 25 sacks this season and shown an ability to divert and deflect passes when unable to reach the quarterback.

Quinn, now in his third year with the Rams, has 13 sacks this season to lead the NFL. He has 35 total tackles, of which 32 are unassisted, and has forced six fumbles.

Last year Quinn finished with 29 tackles, including 24 solo, and 10.5 sacks.
