Finds letter ‘demeaning’

Dear Editor,

I find Mr. Greenstreet’s letter to the editor in the Nov. 20 edition of The Journal Scene concerning Mr. Phil Noble’s letter highly inflammatory and demeaning.

1. He makes the assertion “after fifty years and Trillions of Dollars our students are dumber than ever and other social problems continue to be a scourge.”

2. In a perfect world and U.S. we wouldn’t have poverty and broken homes, yet those broken homes exist in African American, Caucasion as well as other races across our country.

3. What we have in essence is not a failure of a welfare system; to the contrary we have a failure of our spiritual communities and mentor programs.

4. I would suggest if you are so fired up about the problem, then be part of the solution rather than fire off half-baked truths with bigoted remarks.

Be the solution!
