Dorchester County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to provide an escort for a woman attempting to retrieve her belongings from her residence after a recent criminal domestic violence incident.

She warned the deputies that Steven Earl Moore, 50, of Summerville, who was at the residence, did not like law enforcement and could become aggressive.Deputies knocked on the door and when Moore opened the door, advised him that the woman was there to get her belongings.

Moore proceeded to attempt to shut the door in the deputy’s face as he attempted to enter the residence. The deputy pushed on the door and Moore grabbed the deputy by the arm pulling the deputy toward him.

The deputy was able to force Moore to the floor where he and his partner proceeded to handcuff Moore.

Moore was charged with Simple Assault and transported to the DCSO annex.
