The Tanger Outlet Center in Charleston raised and is donating $10,945 for the battle against breast cancer. During this season of hope and giving, Tanger made its local donation to Hollings Cancer Center during a special ceremony on December 12, 2013.
“It takes all of us working together with a common focus and determination to find a cure for this terrible disease,” stated Steven B. Tanger, President and Chief Executive Officer for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. “I am proud of our Tanger Team members in Charleston for their continued hard work in fighting breast cancer and I thank our shoppers for supporting Tanger’s mission to find a cure.”
Tanger’s 2013 PinkStyle Campaign ran September 12th - October 25th with funds being raised through the sale of the popular TangerStyle Pink Card. For a $5 donation to local breast cancer beneficiaries, Tanger customers received a 5 special pink savings cards that provided 25% bonus savings at participating Tanger Outlet stores.
In addition to the sale of Pink Cards, Tanger raised money to fight breast cancer through hosting a PINK NIGHT OUT fundraising event with music, food, cocktails and door prizes sponsored in part by Lowcountry Plastic Surgery, Hehr Oral Surgery, Fear No Easel, Paul Mitchell The School Charleston, Jim’ N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and WEZL 103.5.
With its primary mission to help save lives, Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign creates awareness for the importance of early detection and helps raise the money necessary to support ongoing breast cancer research. Tanger’s campaign also helps fund many important programs and facilities designed to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients.
Since 1994, Tanger has donated over $13.5 million to fight breast cancer nationally.
